Selina
Vaughan is inspired by unexpected color and textures,
especially with vintage graphic signs and jewelry. She
believes in not taking things too seriously- using a
wide range of items like vintage 50s seed sacks,
Japanese wedding kimonos, old floral corsage, soda
caps, wood toys, old watch parts, buttons and jewelry
to make fun bags and jewelry. Her primary goal is to
keep making things that are practical and fun- reusing
vintage items and recreating them to be used in a
different light.
Her current line features vintage seed bags from the
40s-50s. She recently discovered some of these fabrics
while going through the husband’s family barn and have
since been collecting and remaking them into handbags.
She grew up in Singapore, studied film production in
Australia, lived and travelled to many different parts
of the world- as far away as Sweden, South Africa,
Turkey, Japan and India- collecting many unique and fun
fabrics and bits along the way. Currently she lives in
California with her rescue dog and cats with her very
supportive husband.
